Before use, thoroughly detangle your hair with a regular comb. You may apply a leave-in conditioner and blow-dry your hair until it is semi-dry; if your hair is completely dry, lightly mist it with water to minimize heat damage. Take a section of hair and glide the straightening comb down at a steady pace, or-if using a model that opens-place the hair evenly between the heating elements, clamp down, and pull smoothly from root to tip, repeating as necessary.
To create volume at the crown, position the comb diagonally against the roots, push in the opposite direction while pausing for three seconds, or trace a "C" shape. When styling bangs (such as "curtain bangs"), lift the hair, position the comb horizontally against the roots with the teeth facing backward, pull quickly forward while tracing a small "C," and then flip the comb forward toward the ends to create a natural "S" curve. Curl the ends inward for an "inward-flip" look, or comb with the teeth facing outward to add volume to flat hair at the roots.
Avoid pointing the comb teeth inward or moving too quickly. If hair becomes tangled, do not pull forcefully; instead, gently release the hair and comb it again. Select a temperature setting appropriate for your hair type and avoid using excessively high heat in pursuit of faster results; to minimize damage, avoid frequent use and maintain a regular hair care routine.
